The GenomicDataCommons Package: The bridge between the NCI Genomic Data Commons and Bioconductor

Abstract

The National Cancer Institute has established the Genomic Data Commons (GDC) to provide access to large-scale, publicly available cancer genomics datasets. Bioconductor is a large, open-source software project that provides tools for analyzing and comprehending biologic data. The GenomicDataCommons Bioconductor package is a bridge from the NCI GDC data to the cutting-edge tools available through Bioconductor.
